This comprehensive course covers key tax issues for completing complicated individual returns, including in-depth coverage of new legislation, case law developments, and relevant revenue rulings and procedures to help the busy practitioner stay current. Speakers are all practicing preparers who share practical tips to help you get ready for this tax season.
We will review Tax Cuts and Jobs Act individual tax reform provisions, including the new deduction for qualified business income (Code Sec. 199A), modifications to many Schedule A itemized deductions, and the impact of the new marginal tax rate structure on taxpayers.
The course will also address trends in LLC member self-employment taxation, tackle tax challenges facing special industries including shared economy businesses and marijuana dispensaries, and explore tax planning opportunities in the wake of the new tax bill.
